I'M ALL ABOUT THE FIGHT, NEVER GIVING UP AND LEARNING NEW HABITS!

let myomovement show you the way to a healthier more robust you!

MyoMovement was established in 2018 by Martin St-Denis, a passionate therapist whose love for movement developed from an injury sustained while fencing competitively.  After years of unsuccessful therapies, it became obvious he needed to stop competing. The pain had become chronic and was only increasing, time off seemed to bear no fruit.  After almost a decade of chronic pain, Martin decided to study the body, in order to address his ailing back.
One realization became obvious, manual therapy is necessary beyond a shadow of a doubt; however, with a caveat.
Therapy alone isn't enough to work your way out of chronic injuries. It is necessary to form new movement habits otherwise the body will have a tendency to  fall back to its dysfunctional patterns.
This is where the magic happens! Even though you don't realize it, landing yourself in a state of chronic pain means that your body has had to learn and adopt these new habits. Through fine tuning your movement capacity, we can help the brain adjust and develop these new movement connections. In the end, we will train your body to identify old habits it learnt and modify them into better conditioning.

START BY GETTING TO KNOW YOUR BODY, FOAM ROLLING IS A GREAT TOOL FOR THAT.

Here is an example of basic foam rolling for the hips. I Recommend that my clients first do this when dealing with chronic pain. Soft tissue release can be very good to help reduce tension states; however, it also greatly helps the client connect to their body.  This video displays how to foam roll the glutei. These are the muscles that extend and rotate the hip.
Foam rolling is only a part of the equation is addressing chronic pain, they help to reduce tension and bring awareness. With this newly gained awareness it is then important to reintroduce better movement habits to help with integration....More to come, enjoy and stay healthy!
